You can have a little Greece get-away just in 30 minutes from Kaş. Kahramanlar Boat and Meis Express leave every morning at 10.00 and returns at 16.00. Also, every Wednesday and Saturday they have an additional service, leaving at 18.00 and coming back around 23.00.
Best: Alexandra’s Restaurant is our favorite. The island is so tiny, just an hour walk will be fine. But right after the boat arrives the restaurants fill very quickly, so it may be wise to choose a restaurant first and reserve it ahead.
Perfect For: Visiting a different country, for a romantic dinner or a peaceful escape. The colorful architecture, the easy-going people and the delicious smells in the air will immediately take you to this different atmosphere.
Check Out: Watch Mediterraneo (1991) before visiting this idyllic island. The Italian movie took home the Best Foreign Language Film in Oscars.
This 2,000-year-old ancient theater left by the Lycians has one of the greatest sunset views you can watch in Kaş.
Best: Every June, this ancient theater hosts Kaş International Film Festival.
Perfect For: Feeling adventurous, yet you still intend to spoil yourself a little bit? Grab a bottle of wine, make your own cheese board and carry a couple of pillows with you to watch the sunset from the top. The theater is made of sharp stones. (You can ask us for a cooling bag and some blankets.)
You will be mesmerized by the colors and the location of this beach. Even though you don’t have the time to battle with the strong waves of Kaputaş, you can stop by to take a couple of pictures.
Perfect For: Spending the early hours here on your way to Kalkan or Patara. Since the beach is located inside of a canyon, watching the sunset is not an option. Please beware of the strong waves.
A UNESCO World Heritage; this desert-like long beach was once a cultural capital of the area. The first examples of our modern democracy were established right here. So many kings had been and now Caretta Carettas have been walking on the shore. Why not leaving your own footprint on the sand?
Perfect For: Exploring the ancient ruins half of the day, and rewarding yourself at the beach for the rest of the day.
A UNESCO World Heritage, Sunken (literally) City of Simena is a top attraction around the area. The whole city sank during an earthquake in the 2nd century, leaving its ruins under the crystal clear waters. You can drive to Kekova just in 45 minutes and join a group or private boat tour. The ruins are only reachable by boat, and it’s forbidden to swim or dive around them. However, Kekova offers secluded, serene bays to stop by and dip in before going back to the boat for a quick afternoon nap or savor freshly grilled fish.
Best: If you’re interested in a full day private boat tour, our very talkative but charming Captain Hasan offers full-day excursions on his large boat. An 8-hour tour starts at Kekova port, then stops by the main sights before anchoring in a couple of swimmable bays to unwind, and have some lunch or dinner cooked by the captain. The price includes chicken or freshly caught fish as a main dish, a big salad, a couple of mezzes, and a bottle of wine or beers (or soft drinks). You can also look up for different boat tours online, but it’s always recommended to bring your own drinks and snacks to the boat.
Perfect For: A day full of activity, but also lazy on its own terms. Let your captain take care of you while you relax and go for snorkeling or throw your very own cocktail party in a private bay.
Check Out: You can carry the fins, masks, snorkels, or any inflatable item that you can find around our outdoor shower area with you to Kekova.
If you were wondering where these ceramic plates we serve at the breakfast are from, well here they are. Painted and baked with passion by the ceramic artist Sibel Düzel; if you want to carry a long lasting souvenir, you may take one of a kind piece of art with you.
You can visit her in her intimate studio at her natural habitat in Pınarbaşı village between 11.00 and 19.00 every day. You can also opt for a one-on-one ceramic session with her as well.
